ART e FACTs Film Series
So we’ve launched the first feature movie in the ART e FACTs Film Series. No surprise it’s called ART e FACT. A while back I posted an article here – Is it Art or Fact? Movie Making Myth #1 – about the making of the 20 minute proof of concept short for ART e FACT.
Skip forward to now. Obviously the feature got made. So the proof is in the proverbial pudding regarding our DIY film production philosophy. Given the apparently broken distribution system as far as small budget features goes, we decided to try our hand at self distribution. Nothing to lose but much to gain. We want to use this release as an experiment, a research project to determine how much can be achieved and on what budget. Our philosophy to date has been to keep overheads as low as possible to maximise ROI. Time will tell. Speaking of which, we eased the movie into the world a few weeks ago, a very soft launch. Using Instagram as our primary promotional channel, the logic being that’s where all the talent and crew are active. We have an official website where the movie can be rented and streamed via Gumroad. We’ve also made the soundtrack and graphic novel available for digital purchase for super keen fans:)
If you’re interested in our vision for the project read our Manifesto below (from the ART e FACTs Film Series website:)
Hi, I’m Robert Iolini, the creative force behind the ART e FACTs Film Series. If you’re reading this, you’re probably curious about what we’re up to, why it matters, and how you might get involved.
This project combines my lifelong passion for experimental art and music with the immersive storytelling of cinema. At its heart, this series uses science fiction to ask: How does creativity reshape the way we live? What happens when we challenge authority and reimagine power structures? And most crucially, what does it take to unlock human potential?
The films are speculative, philosophical, and rooted in the understanding that every problem—no matter how complex—can be solved through creativity, criticism, and the right knowledge, provided the problem doesn’t violate the laws of physics.
These stories eschew flashy future tech and dystopian tropes. Instead, they explore subtle, human-centered dramas set in worlds that feel just a step removed from our own. They’re grounded, thought-provoking, yet playful, designed to engage your imagination in unexpected ways.
We’re creating independently, with a micro-budget approach that gives us the freedom to experiment without compromise. The first film in our series streams exclusively on our website, demonstrating what’s possible when passion meets creativity. It’s not about the resources we have; it’s about how we use them.
We’re building a universe, one film at a time, where each story deepens our exploration of human potential and creative power. It’s a long game, where genuine connection matters more than marketing.
Please join us.
Best,
Robert
